Have you ever been on the other side of Newport Blvd? I hadn’t, until February 1997 when I made that fateful crossing. There I found a jewel of a warehouse space in a city of Quonset huts.
Fast forward 20 years later to the business that is now Urbanism Furniture. Starting with 800 square feet, I developed a business out of necessity. I had a family to raise and Urbanism was the way I would do it. Urbanism is an anti-retail, take-your-breath-away kind of shop driven by word-of-mouth for 20 years. A place where the coolest furniture would give retail shoppers a whole different option, for a fraction of the investment.
Now Urbanism spans 14,000 sq. ft., still in those amazing Quonset huts. When you walk in, be prepared to encounter a fun feast for the senses. You have to see it to believe it! Lots of one-of-a-kind furniture and accessories, light fixtures, unique art and tasty furniture options pepper the cavernous space.
In addition to a fun shopping experience, Urbanism provides the now-famous “Warehouse To You” service. For simply $95/room (not per hour) a designer comes to you to discuss your budget, style preferences and general wish list. She takes photos, measures and creates some choice options for you to review at your follow-up appointment at the warehouse. You can freshen one room at a time within your allotted time/money budget or use her help to plan the whole home design at once!
Needless to say, if you’re in the market for furniture, look no further! 20 years of solid business and thousands of satisfied customers prove that this gem of a shop should be at the top of your list!
